Take back control of your web data

A familiar pitch is doing the rounds. You have more web data than you can act on, so let our AI do the thinking for you. It's a seductive offer. Dashboards are overwhelming, numbers are hard to read, and the promise of a tool that quietly finds the important bits and explains them in plain language sounds like a relief.

But look closely at what you're being asked to give up. To get those tidy conclusions, your data flows into someone else's system, gets interpreted by a model you can't inspect, and comes back as an insight you're expected to trust. You've outsourced the measuring, and the thinking along with it.

We think that's the wrong trade, and it starts with being a little suspicious of the word insight. When a vendor's AI tells you search traffic rose 72% this week, driven by two new articles, that's a learning, a pattern anyone could have found in the data, dressed up as something more. Useful, sometimes. But it's still your data telling you something, and you're the one who has to decide whether it matters, whether it's causation or coincidence, and what to do about it.

A model that summarises your numbers can't know your roadmap, your campaign calendar, or the outage you had on Tuesday. Judgment is the part that's actually yours. Don't give it away.

Your web data is yours, all of it

With Webperf Cloud, the data your tests produce belongs to you. Not accessible through a premium add-on or exportable if you file a request. Yours, by default.

That principle only means something if you can act on it, so:

That's the difference between a service you use and a service you depend on.

Bring your own AI, on your terms

This is the part we're genuinely excited about, and where our view differs from the let us think for you crowd. If you want to throw a large language model (LLM) at your web data, go for it. We just think you should be the one holding the reins.

Because the API is both readable and agentic, meaning an automated agent can act through it rather than just read from it, you can wire your own AI into the loop end to end:

Instead of waiting for a vendor to decide which insights to surface, you build the analysis you actually want, against data you fully control, with whatever model you trust. If that model gets something wrong, you can see why, because every input came from an API you can read.

Automated summaries can save real time, and we'll happily help you set them up. What matters is where the control sits.

In a healthy setup, the measurement is transparent and open source, the data is yours to read and export, the API lets you automate whatever you like, and the conclusions are drawn by you, or by a model you chose and can inspect. No black box in the middle deciding what you get to know.

You have more web data than you can act on. Letting a vendor act on it for you doesn't fix that. Own it, automate the boring parts yourself, and keep the judgment where it belongs.
